Port Frontier is one of the oldest permanent extraterrestrial settlements in human history, second only to LC Armstrong in age, and the first corporate-owned colony to have ever been established. Though no longer owned or operated by HELIOS Development, having gotten its independence relatively early in its existence due to a number of unlikely circumstances and determined revolutionaries, it remains a symbol of everything that was wrong with the Primary Expansion in the eyes of many, and still bears the scars of its past of corporate totalitarianism.

The colony is now mostly defunct, most of its population having migrated offworld or to other colonies, and serving as little more than a secondary industrial center for Huntress Station, but some particularly stubborn residents have hung around and done their best to keep the colony's unique culture and history alive.
