Mirakana

An ancient and wild world, Mirakana is barely tamed and the inhabitants fight every year to expand their territory. Large Kingdoms, Dynasties and Empires constantly squabble over the the still unclaimed wilds, completely ignoring that they might not want to be claimed. The many moons make the seas an unpredictable mistress but the hardy races of the coasts have managed to control a bit of her for their own.   The Gods can still walk the land but rarely do so, since they still nurse the wounds they received during the great incursion, a time when the forces of the Abyss nearly swallowed the world whole. One Island fell to them but the others managed to stave them off. Vast swathes of Land were corrupted and they have started to regenerate only now, 2000 years later. Under the Lightheart Mountains, one medium sized rift to the Abyssal plane has resisted all attempts to close it and an alliance of Drow and Dwarfs defend the World from a continuous stream of Demons.   Rich with the Weave of Magic, Mirakana has seen many powerful Spellcasters who have left their mark on the World. Ancient Artifacts of great power dwell in dark mountain Fortresses, glowing Palaces and old Towers.
