Appearance

In the beginning of Witch in Progress, Izzy Kingsley is described as a somewhat short seventeen year old girl. She has unruly, dark hair much like the other women in her family, and her eyes are a pale grey color. Izzy looks a lot like her mother, Camila Kingsley, although she does not enjoy being told this.
Izzy likes to dress in skinny jeans and boots, but her tops vary depending on the occasion. She has been known to sport t-shirts with fun slogans, cute crop-tops, and simple tank tops. She does not enjoy wearing dresses and heels, although she will if the situation calls for it.

Personality

Izzy is a loyal friend, but she is impulsive and can often be hot-headed. She does not like bullies and will often get into fights she cannot get out of. She is stubborn and believes that she is right nearly all of the time, even if this is not the case. She does not enjoy schoolwork, although this usually has more to do with her dislike for her teachers and the subject rather than the actual work at hand. It has been theorized that Izzy has ADHD as she is quite incapable of sitting still for long periods of time, although this does not bother her.
Despite joining the game only a year before her Dedication Ceremony, Izzy is a talented Witch. She is particularly gifted with Battle Magic (and later Dark Magic), but for a long time she was determined to become an Anthropology Student (The Seven Disciplines of Magic) just like the rest of her family. Izzy also has minimal Shifter traits and is capable of shifting her hair to some extent, as well as her ears, nails, and skin tone. She does not do this very often.
Although she does not speak about this, Izzy is occasionally visited by a Voice which speaks to her in her mind. It is unclear what or who this voice is, but it generally appears as a voice for Izzy's inner emotions. When she is afraid, it tells her to run. When she is angry, it tells her to fight. Only a handful of people know about this, including: the Kingsleys, Sam, and Aya. She also has some abandonment issues due to the early loss of her mother and subsequent conflict with her older brother.
Izzy's full name is Isabella, but she does not accept any other name aside from Izzy. After discovering the truth about Camila, she decides to trade her father's surname for that of her extended family. She is known exclusively as Izzy Raven from then on.

Family & Friends (Spoilers!)

Izzy has a complicated relationship with her parents. She does not get along well with her father, Clemont, as she believes that he is too controlling while also being an absent parent. This largely stems from Clemont retreating into his work after the tragic death of his wife, Camila. Izzy and Clemont frequently get into arguments which often devolve into childish name-calling and empty threats of boarding schools. Empty, that is, until Clemont follows through on his promise and sends Izzy to live with her grandparents in Midnight, Maine.
Izzy's relationship with her mother, Camila, is not much better. For most of her life, Izzy believed that Camila was dead. After losing her mother at such a young age, and then her father shortly after when he stopped spending time with his children, Izzy developed a difficulty with trusting people. This issue only grew more severe when Izzy reached high school and found herself in a situation where her private life became the latest gossip. However, despite all of the drama between them, Izzy and Camila managed to find common ground when Izzy reveals that she has to go and work for the Fairies. Camila warns her not to trust the Fairies, and then explains some of her background with Walter Woods.
Izzy has two siblings. Lukas is two years older, and Carmen is four years younger. Although Izzy's relationship with Lukas has had its ups and downs, the two managed to get to a good point once Magic entered their lives. For the most part, Izzy and Carmen get along well. They are more different than they are similar, but this does not change the amount of love there is between them. Izzy often feels guilty about leaving Carmen behind with Clemont, but she has no doubt that Carmen will do great things with her life. She is too smart not to. The siblings work together, along with their cousin Sam, in order to learn the truth about their mother. All things considered, Izzy has a good relationship with both siblings. Oftentimes, they act as her conscience and urge her to be better. Other times, her siblings encourage Izzy's ill behaviors and occasionally join in on the fun.
Although Izzy considers herself to have multiple best friends, Sam is always first to mind. Despite their rocky start, Izzy and her cousin quickly grew to care deeply about one another, and when Sam jumped head first into the research on Camila, Izzy knew that she had found someone truly special. The two cousins enjoy spending time together, watching movies and talking about this and that. If there's one person Izzy shares everything with, it is Sam. They are her better half.
Nicole was Izzy's first best friend. They were quite close throughout their high school years, but when Izzy left for Midnight, the girls lost touch. This is what Izzy prefers to say on the matter, anyway. In reality, she ignored Nicole's texts and phone calls for several months as she did not whether she was allowed to tell the truth about Magic. It has also been theorized that Izzy ghosted her friend so that Nicole could not be the one to leave first. Later on, however, the girls had a chance encounter in New York and Nicole assured Izzy that they would always be friends.
While Sam is the person Izzy shares everything with, Alice Crypt is the one person Izzy can't keep anything from. The girls met during Izzy's first visit to the Alpha realm when this strange Witch suddenly appeared on the Crown Prince's birthday. Their friendship blossomed instantly. While Izzy found herself inexplicably drawn to this kindhearted and outspoken young woman, Alice's side of things was far stranger. She shared Izzy's dreams, could sense her emotions, and somehow knew that she was a Witch before Izzy had ever mentioned it. When Izzy found herself on the doorstep back to her own world, she was thrilled to find Alice by her side. The situation was only improved when Izzy realized that her two best friends, Sam and Alice, were falling in love.
Izzy's relationship with the rest of her family is, for the most part, straight forward. She enjoys the company of her cooky grandfather Tom and is always entertained by the stories he tells of his past, his experiments, and his frequent battles. He taught her how to Shift and instructed her in the ways of Battle Magic, and he always treats her with kindness and understanding. Izzy considers her grandmother Birdie to be her mentor in all things Magical. She admires her intellect, her talents, and her zero tolerance policy for bullshit. She is the mother that Izzy never had. Izzy also has tremendous respect and love for her uncle Omar, but there is always an underlying sense of guilt when the two are alone due to Camila's role in their family. Regardless, Izzy considers Omar to be a fantastic father and a rock star of an uncle. He is by far the coolest person she knows and although she might not realize this herself, she hopes that her future self is a lot like him. Viktor is, in Izzy's opinion, a mystery. He is ancient and socially awkward, and he reminds her of Sam. He is a proper member of the family.
Izzy's relationship with Sena DeVaughn has had its ups and downs. Both girls have, on multiple occasions, named the other as their arch enemy. Despite their mutual hatred, the girls get along surprisingly well when left to their own devices. When in public, on the other hand, the girls often get into arguments and physical fights. There is no denying that Izzy harbored a begrudging crush on Sena for a long time. She did not enjoy this in the slightest. Sena was a bully. More specifically, she was Sam's bully. Izzy would not abide by catching feelings for that kind of a person. Regardless, there's always been a confusing sort of softness between the girls.
Minty Bonnaire is Izzy's least favorite person in the entire world, and that is saying something. She does not understand why Sena would put up with this inconsiderate jerk, and wholeheartedly believes that Sena deserves better. This hatred was born out of a conversation Izzy overheard between the two girlfriends, one where Minty dismissed Sena's feelings and belittled her. Unfortunately, this blind hatred causes Izzy to overlook the secrecy surrounding Minty's past.
