I bow to the wishes of Verðandi, and keep her teachings close in such a time. What else can I do? If anything is true after this, it is my sympathy for the blessed Rán and her rather selfless job. Who on earth wants to wade into waters this frigid to net in corpses of those unlucky enough to end their days in them. That said, when she can go home to a loving spouse afterwards, to warm her up, it does take the chill off.
