Session 7 Report

General Summary

Weeks have gone by in this clockwork prison. The Ahu-Nixta took you up from Midgard because, as they told you, a very powerful man was displeased with you. The aliens are a disgusting merger between flesh and machine. What little biological mass that you see of them is pink and fleshy, deformed and bloated with fatty tumors and tentacles. Most of their body is encased in a mechanical shell with metal appendages and tools that extend from it. In the time that you’ve been there, you have been subjected to terrible treatment. You are surviving off of two tablets that they give you daily. They instantly dissolve in your mouth and although they provide you with the nourishment to survive, you cannot help but feel dissatisfied with them. The physical labor is intense. If they do not have you moving the heavy, metal orbs containing what none of you can figure out, they have you mining and processing ore outside the prison walls. It is from here that you are able to see Yggdrasil, the World Tree, and Midgard supported by it. You have determined that you are on Selles, Midgard’s primary moon. Worse than the labor is the medical procedures. These aliens are inquisitive and do not care to ponder the ethics of their research. Under powerful restraint collars, you have no power to resist them as they cut into your flesh to explore and tinker with your inner-workings. You feel every second of the torment until you are finally unable to withstand the pain and pass out. There is no rhyme or reason to their experimentation and the following things have been done: @Sam / Azid : Your right leg was removed. You watched as they dissected it in front of you. Once you recovered, you saw that you had a new prosthetic leg. @Lisa / Geasle : They experimented with your feet. They were fascinated by the state of your undeath. They reattached your feet after removing them, but you later realized that they placed them on the wrong sides. @Michael / Kouvian Thunderstep : Your left arm was removed at the socket. A simple prosthetic was given to you, enabling you to continue your work smashing rocks and moving crates. @Katy / Scraps : Your head was opened up and you felt them prodding into your brain. They stitched your head closed, but not before removing your left eye. @Philip / Stinkbreath : They dug into your innards and explored the guts that keep you alive. When you recovered, you were left with a terrible scar running down your chest and stomach. You’re not sure what they did in there, but something just feel off.   Spud is a fellow prisoner. Some of his eyestalks were amputated and he hates the ahu-nixta more than anything else.   Sowing 30th, 2192 It was time to act! They had to escape!   The group allied itself with a beholder-kin named Spud. They plotted to escape their cell, cause a great deal of damage, and then Spud would be able to fly them off the moon and return them to Midgard. Things started smoothly enough, with Kouvian breaking his and everyone else's bonds. Unfortunately, that was the only thing that would work in their favor. Ahu-nixta guards came into their cell to suppress them. Unarmed and without armor, they fought and beat the three alien guards, but not before they called out the attempted escape. Kouvian ripped off one of their bladed arms and used it to replace his prosthetic arm. Geasle took a cell key from one of the fallen guards.   Spud led the party to the medical bay where the experimentation took place. They saw a vat of purple liquid with tiny creatures swimming within it. They also found the table they had previously tied down and experimented on by the aliens. Azid located their confiscated gear, and everyone re-equipped themselves.   Hoping to cause a distraction, Azid broke the glass container full of swimming creatures. To everyone's horror, these were just smaller ahu-nixta that flew through the air. The half dozen little monsters used their metal arm to drill into the base of the group's skulls and began draining them of their spinal fluid. Worse, any attempt to physically touch them would result in a burst of electrical charge and potentially rip the flesh from their chosen victim. Azid discovered that they could be safely removed with ranged attacks, but even then, it was no easy feat.   Badly wounded after their fight with the small aliens, the group decided they no longer wanted to stay on Selles. Their goal was to go directly to the spaceship and escape. Once again, circumstances were against them. They saw that the Warden and an ahu-nixta were guarding the ship, having been alerted to the potential escape earlier. As the party debated the best way to get past them, they were ambushed by a guard!   Seeing that this guard was far more powerful than the last group of guards in their cell, the party did not waste time unloading their power on the alien. The commotion it made alerted The Warden, who was then prepared to engage them. Azid and Spud ran in, determined to go straight for the spaceship to escape; however, the alien henchman was quickly on them and downed Spud.   Kouvian and Geasle attempted to fight back the alien guard the best that they could. Azid managed to start whispering a strange spell that incapacitated the alien.   The Warden began to move toward Spud. Kouvian stepped out and compelled the Warden to a duel, which he soon regretted as the Warden spewed fire from his mechanized armor.   Geasle managed to make it to the ship and tried to take control of it, but could not. He ran back out and began to fight The Warden.   The Warden unleashed another flamethrower attack; this time, it managed to get both Kouvian and Azid. This time, they were both downed by the attack!   Geasle ran over and poured a potion of healing into the mouth of Azid, reviving his ally. Continuing to run, Geasle got over next to Spud's unconscious body lying on the ground. Oddly enough, as he did this, the Warden stabilized Kouvian and began to make his way towards Azid.   Azid, recouped from the last attack, ran for the spaceship and took control. The Warden had just made it onto the ship when Azid could tilt it just right, so he fell back through the door. The Warden then blasted fire up into the ship, causing serious damage to the interior. Azid leveled the ship and then used it to crash into the Warden, smashing him entirely.   Azid barely escaped the spaceship before it exploded.   With the fight complete, the group investigated the rest of the prison to find that no one was left inside it. They were completely alone on the moon.   Thunders 1st, 2192 Kouvian had tried to call for help by contacting the Knights of Veles. The response back was odd. Rather than hearing from his regular contact, Ariazes, he heard from another Knight. The Knight told him that the “Knights were at war” and that there was “chaos in the west.” They were unable to send help for them just yet.   Thunders 7th, 2192 A spaceship landed on Selles near the prison. It was captained by a Folk of Leng that told them he was a merchant from another world looking to expand his business in new places. He seemed sympathetic to the plight that they had gone through and offered to take them home in exchange for some work on his ship. Without any other options, they agreed to go with him.   Thunders 11th, 2192 The trip had been pleasant thus far and it had seemed the Rat Pack’s luck had changed. As the ship moved into the Astral Plane, the group went to rest. Before anyone could do anything, they were gassed and knocked out once again.
