Poem: Truth in night's darkness
In the darkness of the rain
On the night of a sunny day
A lie as dark as the night is uttered
Cold and false, it makes me shudder
It is wrong, yet still, I do it
In an attempt to make you stay
But things never stay the same
And when the truth reaches your ear
It leaves me in shame
And you, running
Weeping
Out of grief and anger
That I told you a lie
A lie as dark as the night
On the night of a sunny day
A lie as dark as the night is uttered
Cold and false, it makes me shudder
It is wrong, yet still, I do it
In an attempt to make you stay
But things never stay the same
And when the truth reaches your ear
It leaves me in shame
And you, running
Weeping
Out of grief and anger
That I told you a lie
A lie as dark as the night
