With time, man has mastered machine, he has conquered the laws of order and unleahsed chaos. The world is filled with danger - and you carve out a life in the seedy underworld, doing what you can to survive. You live your life on the razor's edge, fighting against corporations who will attempt to "correct" you - by any means necessary - and gangs fighting for what little territory remains of a once prosperous city. But the closer the danger, the further the truth as you try to stay alive doing the most dangerous job of all: Shadowrunner.   The year is 2076 and once mythological beings have risen from the shadow of human history. New races have emerged in light of technological advances and it is not uncommon to meet half-elves, trolls, extraterrestrials, and other unique creatures. Mega-Corps control large sects of the city, while factions fight for what little territory there is to be found in the Underground. The Computer Crash of 2029 led to the creation of the Matrix, a worldwide computer network that users interact with via direct neural interface. When conflicts arise, corporations, governments, organized crime syndicates, and even wealthy individuals subcontract their dirty work to specialists, who perform "shadowruns" or missions undertaken by deniable assets without identities.   The most skilled of these specialists, shadowrunners, have earned a reputation for getting the job done. Amongst all this lies the greatest "shadowrun" of all - "Kill the Dragon", a being of unimaginable wealth and power, and have all your dreams granted.
