Personal history

James Rivers is a young man born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota to a Native American father and a Jewish mother. He was given a morally-upright upbringing by his (Reform) Jewish mother and his father, a Sioux native of the Cheyenne River Sioux and a devout Presbyterian. James is an anomaly within the corporate mercenary community: a genuinely nice guy. But, growing up in an interfaith house, James was unable to choose which faith was true—as a result, he rejected both.
During the events of The Enclave, James becomes the reluctant leader of a tightly-knit group who escape from a TSI Enclave facility in Nord-du-Québec. James brings the group to Chicagoland where the group is attempts to blend into the seedy corporate underworld of urban Chicago.
