Caroline Rivers is James' younger sister by four years. She received the same upbringing as James, but rather than following her brother's example of rejecting both her mother's Reform Jewish lifestyle and her father's Presbyterian faith, Caroline embraced both, becoming a Messianic believer. She and her father quarrel over the differences between Christianity and Messianic Judaism, but they are the only believers in the Rivers family.
Like James, Caroline was born in the TSI Enclave in Nord-du-Québec. When James led a group to escape from the Enclave facility, Caroline joined them.
