Senstia
The brain fruit, the fruit of forever dreams.
This plant bears the fruit of toxin very sort after by assassins, but it is rare and expensive.
Found either in Meskou or with a rare chance in the caverns below Hollow. They grow adjacent to rivers protected from direct sunlight. Their root that penetrates into a river glows a soft turquoise.
The fruit itself looks like spiralling tendrils surrounded by leaves. These tendrils like vines grow around a large fruit often referred to as the brain of the plant. Once the fruit is removed the plant dies.
The fruit is ground down into a powder by drying it in the sunlight before using a mortar. This powder can easily make someone enter a coma with just a slight ingesting. It is then brewed into a liquid form to limit it from getting into the air and into the nostrils of an unfortunate victim. This brewing process is done under high surveillance with masks, suits and gloves. Brewers of this poison often enslave or bribe Liren to do the brewing for their immunity to its effect. Often brewers make the effect take a while to activate so it isn't obvious the individual was poisoned.
The leaves of the plant are generally harvested at the same time and sold off to nobility for their use in cooking. It enhances most dishes by making the flavour more potent by augmenting the individual's tongue for a short period of time. This happens because it causes the body to augment the tongue to make the taste buds stronger allowing for new flavours to be experienced.Basic Information
Anatomy
There is a fruit with vines growing around it in a spiral like motion. As the plant matures leaves start to form around the vines acting as a balancing system.
Genetics and Reproduction
The plant reproduces by spreading its roots far underground until the roots reach far enough and grow a new fruit and the plant splits from its parent and slowly grows from there.
Ecology and Habitats
Rivers inside of caverns.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Its roots absorb nutrients from the soil and rivers that they grow by.
Additional Information
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
The vines can feel pressure and use this to grow away from surfaces.
