Nlang Council

The city of Oasis is run by a council called the Nlang, it is derived from the Donsel word for the serpent. It is made up of 9 members referred to as chairs. The chairs don't resemble any exact attribute of the city, but each member of the chair has their own bias and collectively come together to vote on matters of the city. Each chair is passed down through election. A term lasts 10 years, with the member staying in power for the full term unless they step down or if the other eight members agree to vote them off. If a member leaves their chair prematurely they are temporarily replaced by someone the council elects to finish the term. If an unexpected death occurs the same procedure is followed. Each chair is re-elected throughout this 10-year period spanned out with 1 per year. The 10th year was devoid of voting for a chair. Only residents owning land within the city walls are eligible to vote. Voting takes place within the Envoy Centre.
