"Ancestors of ours shouldn't be touched by a ritualist" ~Nerissa Jori
Transmission & Vectors
By subjecting a vessel to the artificial magic of a Cirrina or magic channelled to mimic the Cirrina's effect.
Causes
The injection of sacks of eggs into the vessel's skin and then muscles.
Symptoms
The body starts growing barnacles slowly and painfully, soon suppressing the vessel's consciousness and having the barnacles grow interconnected roots to the brain to control the lifeless vessel.
As the muscles start rotting the barnacles start sprouting thin eggplant toned worms covering the entire body controlling the vessel to keep it operational until it is no longer functional.
Treatment
The use of highly concentrated fire on the egg sacks to burn them before hatching, it is advised to not try to remove them with a blade for it will react faster.
Pale aloe may also reduce the speed of incubation beneath the skin.
Alternatively any form of removing of eggs through magic is most ideal.
Affected Groups
Any vessel.
Hosts & Carriers
Any vessel that contains a brain to latch onto like a parasite, corpses included.
Prevention
The rubbing of pale aloe oil on the skin.
History
This condition has been mostly limited to the sea until the year 73AS when Kyojin Bougan Yogsha brought it to Enser which quickly spread to neighbouring countries.
Cultural Reception
The majority of the Ashen population were scared of it as it was the main soldier in Yogsha's Rebellion. But many Daidarabotchi, Kenhika and Mirran took this opportunity as a rebellion and to set up their new home in the north.
