Huikliis

Written by Artgalles

The name was given by the Skaal, comprised of Huik and Kliis meaning Flesh-Skin. They combine of a splinter group of Mirran that left Amriga during the war with the Ashen and migrated to Jultren. They consist of most of those that opposed the pact made with Shesire, and who turned against the rest of their kind.   They went with their god Marduh and when meeting the local Skall of Jultren they discovered that Marduh is a deity in their pantheon as well. As a political plan to gain the favour of the Skaal and Dragons that were located here for their war they adopted the Hydra pantheon, they have kept the pantheon till this day. This gave them access to dragons starting the events that lead to the Treaty of the Flying Baron. Instead of doing a unified attack against the Ashen they spread the forces out by a large area, with skeletal remains of the dragons reaching as far down as Mashent. Though most of the dragons were executed, though there are a few families that still have dragons in hiding, from how dangerous Jultren is investigation to search for them is virtually impossible.   Their skin tones are quite dull tones often being copper clay, caramel marmalade and dull sandstone though it is common from breeding with the Skaal has caused a few to grow patches of scales on their body in colours: blazing red, astral purple, glowing white, crystal turquoise, bush green, sandy yellow, dull ruby, slimy deep blue. Eye tones consisting of commonly as earth brown, sandy brown, pale gold, dirty green and those with some Skaal blood(Even if not visible through scales) can lead to two different eye colours(Heterochromia), these odd eye tones mimic that of the scales tone(Or the type that the gene relates to if scales aren't present). The hair is generally short with no differences between genders, the colours consist mostly of mustard yellow, crimson brown, honey cinnamon, charcoal seaweed and autumn ginger. The other features mimic that of the Mirran and aren't noticeable without a detailed study. Ears are rounded at the top, with heights sitting at just taller than the Mirran.   The clothing remains mostly in place for survival with robes that have netting found on the face of the hood used as protection against swarms of ferocious insects. The netting is paired with tight gloves and pants that are tucked into sturdy boots made for walking in the muddy lakes. Fixed to the waists on each side is a set of stirrups that were originally used for mounting dragons back before the Treaty of The Flying Baron was signed and saw the dragons exicution, they might be used on more common day mounts but generally don't find much use compared to the past.
