Footprint Lake

A lake found in the shape of a giant footprint, theorized to of been made by titan sized giants before the Chinderin settled the land.  Found in the country of Sey in the Amber forest not too far off from the road.

Geography

A decently large lake in the shape of a foot, with 5 smaller lakes where the toes would be. The water is clear when static, but quickly becomes messy with the mud layers on the floor becoming upset. Its shape is retained because of the durable clay pocket it is pressed into. The heel side is filled with reeds, all around it sits the Amber forest preventing the lake from overflowing.

Ecosystem

A very small school's of fish live here, with their main predators being bears and fishermen. There is plenty of algae and reeds to provide foods to the fish, but not enough fish to support an aquatic predator.

Ecosystem Cycles

During the winter and autumn the stink fish buries itself in the mud waiting till spring to resurface, this causing a huge growth in other fish species and more bears in the region during autumn and end of winter.

History

It is theorized this was made by a giant the size of a titan. But no proof has been obtained regarding it, leaving most scientists to believe it's just a strange natural formation.  There is a slightly less held together lake found to the south west of it that features just a heel and three toes. This is the only pairs of footprint holes to be seen in any nearby area. Some claiming it's the clay that has kept it fixed together so well, with the remaining lands weathering away.    Most households still speak about it in folktales as an identifiable landmark.  But there isn't much history to account for.

Tourism

The odd traveller may go off the path to view it, but none tend to stay long during unless it's mid winter.
