Enwasnlang

The creature known as Enwasnlang is a fearsome breed indeed, derived from the tongues of Donsel and Kensel meaning "Water Serpent". Given this name for their raids on civilization purely for water. They are humanoid lizards, marked by unique skin patterns that held identify their tribes, or in some cases mask their presence against the sands. These beasts dwell in cavernous lairs, hiding from the blistering heat of the sun while they store the spoils of their raids. They form small tribes, united in their love of raiding and devouring flesh. It is said that they even feast upon their own kind when hunger takes them.
Many have fallen to the blades of Slamander, for they have a particular taste for the flesh of humanoids. They ravage settlements and towns alike, seeking their next meal. Even the extinct goblins native to the region have not escaped their insatiable hunger, as evidenced by the bones found deep in old Salamander camps.
However, these savage beasts do have a unique relationship with the Yig, viewing them as their own kind and rarely attacking them. It is rumoured that the Yig is seen as some form of deity or higher being to the Enwasnlang, thus explaining their reduced aggression towards them.
But do not be fooled, these creatures are not to be trifled with. Even their own kind shun those born with a heightened intellect, seeing them as an aberration and casting them out to perish alone. Those who survive take a vow of silence, never to speak of their tribe or culture. The only knowledge we have of their beliefs is their fear of some religious belief, a mystery that may never be fully understood.
