Elf

The category of grouping certain species as elves is complete nonsense conjured up by politicians looking to unify different cultures together.
The name elf is derived from the species of Alfer who are considered to be the ancestors of every elf. The belief of the Alfer being considered some of the first elves ever to set foot on the known world, tends to be debated on account of the Chinderin, their ancestors of the void, were said to of sailed into the world mere moments after its creation. The going theory was that the Alfer were the group who remained behind in the void only to enter the world once the Niene Comet crashed into the southern regions of the known world. The split with the Chinderin in the north and Alfer in the south makes it mostly impossible to determine who emerged first or whether they share any genetic relation. To further differentiate the Chinderin have a significantly shorter life span and their descents the mirran lost the pointed ears.

Characteristics

Few consistent characteristics are present throughout elves, the most common being their long pointed ears. They are typically taller than the average Human, however, this isn't always the case. Additionally, the presence of animal features is quite common.
Elves also have a high vulnerability to iron, grasping iron for them feels like holding a hot piece of metal, and wounds from it leave deeper and longer lingering cuts.
