Lumimorph Traits

Lumimorphs possess a range of natural abilities, evolved to adapt to their unique biology and environment.

Ability Score Increase

Your Constitution score increases by 2 and your Charisma score by 1.

Age

From the moment of cytofission, Lumimorphs grow to their full size after a couple years and have a lifespan of up to 200 years, after which their core degrades and they perish.

Size

Lumimorphs can take a great variety of sizes, but generally stand between 4 and 6 feet. Your size is Medium.

Speed

Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Shifting

Lumimorphs can choose to propel their body forward in a flowing motion instead of walking. This allows them to move silently and without leaving footsteps. Your shifting speed is equal to half of your walking speed.

Swimming

Lumimorphs have the ability to control their density in water, allowing them to either float or sink. As a result, you have a base swimming speed of 30 feet.

Exotic Lifeform

Lumimorph do not require air or drink to survive. Their unique diet consists of minerals, sugar, plant matter, and water, which can be absorbed from all sorts of sources, including inorganic matter. They can survive without a head and do not have blood. You have a vulnerability to fire damage, and a resistance to acid damage. Additionally you can absorb matter and dissolve it. Each pound of matter takes one hour to dissolve.

Second Skin

Lumimorphs cannot wear normal clothes or armor. Instead, they possess a pliable, gelatinous second skin that can mimic the properties of various materials and substances, including armor and gear. When you consume a set of armor, your second skin can replicate its properties (magical or otherwise), and you are considered as wearing that set of armor. You can also manipulate the appearance of your second skin to create unique patterns and express your individuality. You can reabsorb your second skin at will. This process takes the same amount of time as doffing the armor that your second skin is replicating, if any.

Bioluminescence

Due to Lumimorph's ability to produce a faint luminescence in the dark, you can produce a constant dim light in a 10-foot radius around yourself, which is increased to a 20-foot radius if you are not wearing any armor. When doing so, you have disadvantage to Dexterity (Stealth) ability checks.

Adhesive Form

Lumimorphs can alter their bodies to become sticky and adhesive, allowing them to easily cling to surfaces and grapple with precision. You have advantage on ability checks made to grapple or climb. Additionally, when you grapple a creature, it has disadvantage on attack rolls made against you until the grapple ends. After you use this racial feature, you can't use it again until you complete a short or long rest.

Languages

You can speak, read and write Common and one additional language of your choice.
