Geography

A small valley located along the Chon river, a few miles before the great gate barring entrance to the Chon Delta. Surrounded by mountains from the south, west, and east, the only way to properly access it is with boats over the river or by the street hammered into the mountains on either side of it.
The Valley itself is plain in nature with no own source of water, entirely dependent on the Chon river. Although it does not look special, many have described it as a sight for sore eyes, as it is the first sign of vegetation after several days of walking alongside a river surrounded by mountains. As it is also home to a small town, it may seem to some like a realistic rural paradise, only a few days travel away from two of the greatest cities in the known world.

Natural Resources

While its lush nature and plentiful wildlife in itself are a valuable resource, the true treasure of the valley is its stone mines. The stone mined there may not be the best the world has to offer, but it is close to Richardia and Uphratus, thus alleviating much of the transport costs, giving it a significant edge over many of the better masonry found elsewhere. The mines itself are not to be scoffed at, employing several hundred people, albeit that those numbers may seem pitiful when compared to the great mines of Vakana or Gocada. Equipped with some of the most modern and innovative technology around, these workers can keep up with mines twice their size.
Extensive farming, both for plants and animals, exists but is mostly for sustenance, as there would be no area close by which would buy their agricultural produce. Those who can, import food from the Chon Delta, as it is both better quality and sometimes even cheaper.
A few logging camps also exist, but their produce is also meant as sustenance, due to the lack of export opportunities.
