Add magic.   Welcome to Merana.   For centuries Merana expanded by harnessing the magic of glass - from the creation of simple household objects to weapons of war, but the glory of the empire has faded. As factory-based technology develops, glass magic is considered old-fashioned, merely decorative, a relic of the rich. The younger glassmiths use their skills in games and competitions, street-level magic with no real purpose beyond the possibility of discovery and elevation to the upper class.   One sinister key to Merana's past glory was the application of stained glass - blood magic that could predict the future. While the results are worshipped in city temples, the practice has been outlawed and the witches exiled to the single island where their art was born to fade into myth and memory.
