Horntail Mountains
A large mountain range that, when mapped, seems to be shaped like a god-sized dragon. Legend has it that this is the site of the defeat and final resting place of the dragon Teonyss. Recent explorations into the caverns near the Cauningbog indicate that there is a vast world beneath this ridge, and some believe the dragon lives here still, biding her time until rebirth.
Geography
A large central ridge of high peaks with several smaller ridges offshooting from it, this range separates the continent by occupying most of the middle. Between the dragon's "legs" lies the Cauningbog, a marsh that is fed by the Elmwhisk, the fey-touched river. The marsh drains into an underground river that passes beneath the mountains, eventually leading north and east to the sea, depending on the branch of the river.
Fauna & Flora
The central ridge hosts creatures that can deal with the chill and high-altitude: trolls, ogres, and things akin to frost elementals, along with more common rams and mountain lions. Lower ridges reflect their region's flora and fauna a bit more, though the closer you are to the Cauningbog, the more likely you are to encounter the remnants of the old magic this continent was once known for.
