The Lightdrinker

The Lightdrinker is an artifact that takes the shape of two sets of brass-knuckle-like ring systems that are worn on both hands and slip onto each of the 4 main fingers on each hand. They are interconnected with a link that goes over the back of the hand, connecting the rings to each other.   When the Lightdrinker was first created the Zodiac did not know how to properly wield this artifact, and it got its name because they only knew how to make it destroy and absorb light. As time passed, wielders became more skilled, figuring out how to release light energy, and eventually create light-energy constructs.   One of the ring systems, probably the left hand, is used to absorb or drink the light of an area. This act siphons off the light, and stores it for a period of time in the rings, to be released. The rings must be charged in this way, in order to release light through the other set of rings. There is a maximum capacity to which this can be charged, however, light can still be absorbed even once this capacity is reached, it just won't continue to charge the system. Drinking the light in this way places very little strain on the wielder and doesn't use much silver, but it does require the wielder to focus and limits the actions they can take while actively siphoning off light.   The other set of rings allows for the discharging of the artifact and is the real powerhouse of this artifact. The right hand's rings can be used to release blinding flashes of light, and also create constructs made of light as the user becomes more experienced. A beginner can only use the right hand to release beams of light or summon light energy barriers that absorb shock. As the wielder grows more experienced, however, this can be used to summon light constructs that appear in the form of wieldable weaponry, or armor that appears to be made of sunlight.   Any weapon or construct made of light is weightless to the wielder. For example, a giant battle axe that is conjured would feel weightless and would not be subject to wind resistance for example. However, when the object is used on others, it acts as if it has the correct mass for what is summoned. So if a wielder created a giant axe as mentioned above, they could swing it at immense speeds effortlessly, but anything that is hit would be subject to the full force of a giant axe that is being swung at lightning speed.   This is also true for a light-energy armor that could be created. A heavy, Paladin-like armor could be conjured out of thin air, and the wielder would not be weighed down by such an armor. However, anything trying to hit the wielder would be met with armor that offers that same level of protection as the real thing.   The burden that arises from using this artifact comes from summoning and destroying constructs. When the right-hand releases light, it uses up silver and places a burden on the wielder. If a construct is destroyed rather than being reabsorbed by the left hand, that too consumes a great deal of silver. Thus, the Lightdrinker is not super resilient as a tool of defense, but it can still provide a large amount of protection if silver is plentiful. If the wielder is short on silver, the Lightdrinker is better served as a tool of offense.   Potentially, the wielder of this artifact will be named Liora (Meaning God's gift of light to me). Liora also inherited the Lightdrinker at a young age, similarly to Cyrus. I'm thinking of having her allign with Cyrus initially and then convert to the good side when she starts to see how unhinged Cyrus becomes after the confrontation between Atlas and Cyrus that sends Atlas back in time.
