The Earthshaker

The Earthshaker is one of the most powerful artifacts that the Zodiac posses. This artifact takes the shape of a silver spear adorned with various gems, and given an otherwise "earthy" appearance.
The Earthshaker has the ability to send powerful and precise seismic waves through the earth. It can split the ground apart, shake it violently, and skilled users can manipulate the ground in other ways, driving up spikes from the ground.
The wielder of the Earthshaker was one of the Zodiac sent to put down the Thunderspeaker rebellion. Atlas, after being sent back in time, realizes that the wielder is going to put down the rebellion. When Atlas heard the account of the rebellion from the Thunderspeakers during his time there, he remembers hearing them fight against two of the Zodiac, but not the wielder of the Earthshaker. As such he knows that he has to stop them from going to the Thunderspeakers or else they will destroy them, as they will be the most well-suited to destroy the underground tunnels that they live in.
I am toying with the idea of Atlas actually befriending the former wielder of the Earthshaker when he is sent back in time. It is possible he will just work as a servant or something but then be drawn in closer for some reason. If this happens, I will have them become close prior to the wielder going to put down the rebellion. This act, Atlas needing to kill someone who he has come close to, is something the starts to mature him greatly, preparing him to fight against his brother when he gets back to the present day.
Either way, Atlas defeats the wielder of the Earthshaker before he can even get to the Thunderspeakers. He winds up possessing the Earthshaker and keeping it in hiding until the present day. He most likely eventually gives the Earthshaker to Torrin who he must convince to wield it.
So where is the Earthshaker in the present day? I am toying with having the former wielder go in secret, only telling Atlas about going, having been convinced by his family, after being reluctant to go initially. The family pretends that something happens to the wielder, falling ill suddenly, and passing abruptly. They use this smokescreen and create a duplicate of the Earthshaker, a powerless fake, and pretend that it is still the original version. Cyrus likely finds out it is a fake during the initial assault when he kills the so-called wielder of the Earthshaker and finds it to be a powerless fake.
