Naming Traditions

Feminine names

Normally named after female mages such as Adosu the Bloodmage, Olota the Steelskin, Egathu the Swordsung, and so on.

Masculine names

Normally named after male fighters such as Oko the Great, Zozem the Tricky, Dhommas the Hammer, and so on

Family names

Voss, other minor vampire family names

Other names

Most famous members of clan Voss have a title, such as the Tricky, The Hammer, the Bloodmage, etc. These titles are often meant to intimidate people and will be related to the person's accomplishments in battle.

Culture

Major language groups and dialects

Most Voss speak Vampiric, though some families have human slaves that can speak Common.

Culture and cultural heritage

The Voss are very warlike and value martial prowess above all.

Shared customary codes and values

Martial prowess and personal achievements are seen as very good to have.

Average technological level

They mostly use weapons made from sanguine crystallization. Some choose to make weapons out of bone.

Common Etiquette rules

It's pretty normal to introduce yourself with a grand title and, if possible, some war drum or horn-based music.

Common Dress code

Voss wear light armor almost all the time while out in public, and wear heavy, battle-ready armor when attending important social events.

Art & Architecture

The only art Voss like is the art of their enemies dead bodies on the ground, preferably covered in blood and viscera. Their architecture is usually simple, but uses oak wood in conjunction with bones. Their houses often have underground portions if the family can afford it.

Birth & Baptismal Rites

The baby is dunked in blood

Coming of Age Rites

Hunting a group of humans is a rite of passage into adulthood for men, undergoing a harrowing magical ritual for women

Funerary and Memorial customs

The blood is drained from their body (to be used in various ways) and their flesh is given to the werewolves. Their bones are either burned or used in buildings.

Common Taboos

Letting a human go if you could easily kill them (I.e. if you had them on their knees in front of you and let them go)

Ideals

Beauty Ideals

Voss often use their enemies' blood as war paint. They also may take some black sand and put it in their hair to give them a battle-worn look. Voss also believe it is good to go into public with scars, to show that you've been in battle before.

Gender Ideals

Men are usually expected to become warriors or beastmasters (with the beasts usually being werewolves), and the females usually become spellcasters.
