Mastu is a world quite different from ours, but still very much the same. It has grass, trees, animals, humans; but that's not all. On the only known continent of Mastu, 4 kingdoms rule, each of a different race. They are at peace (for the time being), and they share their knowledge freely. That includes trade routes, maps, stratagems and... magic.   Let's start with the humans. The humans of this world have divided up their land into multiple kingships, and each king can give some of their land to a noble to control. They have a strict class system which can be hard to climb, but it can be done to a certain extent. Their magic revolves around the spoken word; their god gave them knowledge of a special 3; Doh (Offensive), Lih (Create), and Bah (Healing/Beneficial). Eventually, they found out how to use these via trial and error, and have created so-called 'mage-towers' to teach prospecting magicians. Any race can learn this, although within the schools there may be stigma surrounding non-humans.   On to the Slizzarí. Most would describe the Slizzarí as snake-humanoids; and they'd be right. The Slizzarí lands are made up of many cities and tribes, loosely combined under a council. They don't have a distinct class system (though some jobs are definitely more respected), but it may still be hard to get anywhere financially/power-wise. Their magic cannot be taught or learned; only discovered. Their magic is elemental, given to them by the aptly-named elemental deities. One can unlock this power after spending a long time (years) with nature, or it can be triggered by life-threatening situations. This is hard to find among other races, but isn't impossible by any means.   Now for the Rahk'ka. The Rahk'ka are, for all purposes, cat people. Much like the Slizzarí, they have given their land to their many tribes, which roam freely. There are few sedentary towns, but those which stand are prosperous hubs of trade. Also akin to the Slizzarí, they have a council, but there are many differences. There are one of three groups each tribe or town falls into; (TBD), (TBD), or (TBD). The leaders of each tribe meet with the other leaders in their group, and come to a decision. They then send one representative to the council, and an agreement is met. Their magic is Alchemy, which consists of boiling special items in water to give certain effects. Their god of Light gave them knowledge of restorative potions, and their god of Dark gave them knowledge of harmful potions. The two ways to use a potions are to drink or touch them; special poisons, 'energy drinks', certain healing potions, etc. are drunk, whereas acids, healing salves, etc. are touched.   And the Levi'i. They are much shorter than the other races, and don't live quite as long. While this may seem like a lesser race; a miserable existence; there is one caveat. They can fly. Yes, these are the bird-like people of Mastu, and they live high above in the treetops. Though they have this marvelous ability, they are limited by many means. Their 'hands' aren't as opposable as those of other races, which requires them to use their beak, or clawed feet, to carry a great deal of items. Despite having this impediment, their preferred weapon is the spear. This is probably due to the fact that they are light, easily carry-able, and don't necessarily require great smithing techniques. They have no visual magic, and some speculate they have none at all. However, the Levi'i say that their 'wind-spirit', whom they worship, enhances their flight.   But there is one more group in the world. The Outlanders. The Outlanders consist of Outcasts and, well, Outlanders, who live in the wilds beyond civilization. To preface, there are three big punishments for major crimes (from rare to common): a lifetime sentence in prison, execution, or being outcast. While the first two are straightforward, one that might need some explanation is the last. If you are outcast, you will be escorted to the border of whatever kingdom you may be in, and sent out into the wilds, or 'Outlands'. If you step into the kingdom again, you will be killed. Such 'Outcasts' formed tribe-like groups, combining scavenging and raiding settlers & other groups to get by. Outlanders, however, have (usually) done nothing wrong. They just prefer to live in the wild, away from rigid class and money systems. These are mostly made of humans, since the other two races have tribes within their kingdom. There is not any magic specific to Outlanders, but the most common among them is elemental magic, due to their life among nature.
