Mark's Star

(Look at my timeline, not my articles, as most of the content is there)   In the early 2500s, a man named Director Steve Mark embarked on an expedition to the inner galaxy. He aimed to find earth-like worlds, as his title referred to his scientific standing in the Union. Upon reaching the inner Orion arm, he discovered a brown dwarf emitting strange patterns of ULFs. Soon, this became a major roadblock in the survival of the human race...   A hard sci-fi - or as hard as I can make it (I don't have much time for research) about the future of the human race. Includes FTL (the main non-hard sci-fi aspect). Despite being a hard sci-fi, I try to write it like a space opera, just because I enjoy that genre.   The two main political groups are the Polynesian Alliance and the Terran Union, both of which originated on earth. They are constantly at odds with each other, creating a large amount of conflict within the galaxy. Many more dystopian sci-fi elements are present in some places, such as a semi-hive mind of humans, over-the-top genetic editing for purely cosmetic purposes, and people who are almost entirely cyborgs.
