Legend from tales

A legend? Ha don't make me laugh, they are nothing compared to our goddess. Legends think they can create new things but these we all planned by our benevolent goddess, how dare they claim it as theirs to monopolise!
— Cardinal Edmund Cade from Tirastir

I once got to meet a legend. If I didn't see their power in action I wouldn't have believed they were too special, you know; since they started as a person like you or me. What they did? Well I probably wasn't meant to see but I saw this person change nearly everything about themselves, their race, sex, height. They changed nearly everything about themselves after they came out of the slums only to change themselves and casually walk straight into the nobles area without getting a second look from the guards.
— Leonato Tyrrell, 9th grade adventurer
A legend, known by many for their power, seeing each nation as an equal and able to trade with kings and emperors over information, resources and tools.   Many nations attempt to train legends, but many fail due to restricting the person by the laws of the country and the limits to the freedom of the person. There is also the risk of the legend gaining enough power to escape or rally enough forces to punish the nation for harsh treatment.

Qualifications

The pinnacle of a persons skill within their class, and to be recognised by a large number of people no matter where they go.

Requirements

L20+ in a single class (D&D qualification) To have become the direct ally of at least 2 nations. To have a noble rank in at least 4 nations.   Later requires all 6 nations to agree for being awarded the title twice or more.     Although requirements require the nations to acknowledge the legend, they gain the powers of a legend even without recognition directly from the nations due to the title being naturally granted as if by a law of nature, should the legend create a miracle of the world, either through world class magic or the ability to change natural laws.   There are evil legends, but they are not normally seen in the public view due to the chaos they could cause. An evil legend can quite easily be a misguided good legend, moving from saving lives with medicine, to researching and developing the field of poison or disease. While not inherently evil they are topics people look down on, specially should someone advance the fields.

Appointment

Upon the person being capable of altering the worlds natural laws, an unknown higher being recognises their power and grants them a legends protection, making them live to the oldest age of their race and giving them a specialty in their subject, making it very hard to advance solely in other subjects that aren't tied in with their specialty.

Duties

A legend is required to keep advancing their field, sometimes through any means needed.

Responsibilities

A legend is responsible for advancing their field in the most cutting edge methods, should they end up unable to advance the field they can lose their blessing from the world.

Benefits

When someone becomes a legend, they instantly gain the ability to recall any information they have read about their specialist topic, they also have an uncanny ability to gain insights into ongoing research topics, helping teach others and advancing the work of others.   When becoming a legend, all have reported their most valued skills have been pushed to the peak, this might mean their powers in illusion have been advanced to a perfect level, or that they gain a special and sometimes unnatural ability.
