The Verdanese Administrato

The Verdanese Administrato: While the Grand Genius is the head of Verdanese government, he does little of the actual management. Chosen by being the greatest inventor and thinker of the Verdan people, The Grand Genius is highly eccentric and actual power tends to rest with their assistant, Oleana. Oleana runs a meritocratic administration of managers and secretaries that coordinate and oversee the many inventors and industries of the Verdan people. Her imposing reputation means most bow to her orders and the very few who have defied her find themselves quickly banished to the mainland.
