House of Ganim: The heart of Samarra’s financial and banking system. Although a stable institution run by multi generation families of bureaucrats tied to the House, its current leadership is a bit eccentric. The married couple of Yelim and Niraht Al-Ganim are day and night. Yelim is a foul-tempered miserly halfling who is harsh to those who fail to uphold the terms of their deals with the House. His husband, Niraht is a calm and generous human willing to forgive debts to those who are truly in need. This strange dichotomy is a bit of joke around Samarra, but it is surprisingly effective partnership in the city’s dynamic economy. Their mansion is built into a large pillar separate of the cliff walls and overlooking the city’s merchant district.
