Askelson

The Askelson family is the oldest Elven family in existence and the wealthiest. They have played an influential role in the Zola country for thousands of years. There were whispers from the Redblades about their power and wealth. The pirates who tried to acquire some of that wealth for themselves never returned the same. Jiran is the only person in current history to have gained the trust of the ancient family. How he did so is unknown to most.

History

Created well before the Last War, the Askelson family is rumored to have originated when two generals started a family. They went on to train their children and grandchildren in espionage and warfare, ensuring the safety of the Zolans. The family acquired wealth with each battle they participated in. Some said their gold was blood-bought and therefore cursed. However, with the power the family held, both militaristic and political, not many would openly say so. In the instance of a Zolan king or queen being untrue to their country, the family would be at the head of a coup to set things on the right track.
