A mute baby is born and the Goddess of the Moon grants her the ability to shape the Moonsong.

In a small colony, far from anywhere of note, a green baby with violet wings and eyes is born. Tragically she is mute. Coincidentally, the very moment of her birth coincided with the death of the Moon Magus. In a moment of pity for the mute baby, and distraught over her loss, the Moon Goddess, Anwa, grants the infant the powers of the Moon. Anwa regrets her decision later, but isn't willing to take back her blessing. The baby is named Spinel Shining, after the purple gemstone color of her eyes.
