Mala is the Fei name for their home-world, a planet orbiting a blue star. While the name technically refers only to their continent, they are not aware of the planets far reaches, for the planet is on a very eccentric orbit that results in there being two rings of ice around the planet, seperating it into three parts, of which the Fei live in the top-most. This is caused by the planet's axial tilt fluctuating radically. This planets unstable orbit is kept in place by a race of demi-gods called The Masters. There are many sentient species on the planet, the main one being the Feirie, which includes the Fei, the Imps, and the Giants, among others, and the Drakyn, which include the Dragons, Drakynfly, and Wraiths. Humans are rare, but do exist in small colonies. The Sun and Moon vibrate the planet creating a 'Song' that shapes the planets physiology, flora and fauna. It forces the minds and bodies into a regular beat and can even grant powers to those who can control it. The Sun grants the Pure magics of life and creation, while the Moon grants the Dark magics of death and chaos.
