Skanaer (Skah-nah-air)

Near the polar north lies the land of Skanaer, but more commonly known as Snowedge. A land mass covered in tundra and ice-covered mountains and forests. Skanaer contains hardy inhabitants, settlements endure even in the most unforgiving areas.

Geography

Skanaer is home to plains of ice and snow, large forests, treacherous mountain ranges, and chilling rivers.
Settlements Jotun - A fantastical city, full of fey and exotic humanoids. Jormun - A large town resting beside the Dragon Lake. Marstad - A town of resilient people, found in the Frozen Marsh. Nepja - A coastal city just south of the Frozen Wastes. Mergir - A prosperous coastal city in the Fields of Life.

Fauna & Flora

FAUNA Snowedge holds many animals depending upon the region.
Wildlife includes elks, cave lions, boars, oxen, horses, foxes, wolves, lynx, otters, wolverines, seals, bears, whales, dolphins, bats, hares/rabbits, beavers, various rodents, and various birds including ducks, cranes, hawks, edges, owls, woodpeckers, falcons. amphibians and reptiles.

In the northeastern region, the harsh cold and rough mountainous terrain make the area absent to all but white dragons, yeti's, Theullai, rime worms, and bheur hags.
The coastal locations contain bronze dragons making homes in the nearby caves, dragon eels in underwater coves, coral drakes lurk among coral, sea hags make their lairs below the sea with merrow habitats surrounding, and remorhaz feed on polar bears. Sharks, snow crabs, octopus, and polar bears feed along icy shores.
Fresh water areas such as lakes and rivers are home to eel hounds, lake trolls, and fraughashar.

Natural Resources

Forests provide ample supply of wood in the western region. Grains can but farmed in the eastern fertile lands, however mostly winter crops such as scallions, onions, garlic, peas, etc are grown in Skanaer. Flocks of sheep are herded in the hills of morra. Iron ore, stone, and marble can be mined in the mountains surround Jotun as well as the Rockwall Mountains. More precious metals such as gold, mithril, etc,. are found in the Oblivion Peaks where dragons and other dangerous creatures make roost.
