Makkah

In Makkah, warriors on horseback bind spirits to their heartbeat to share the power of gods. The stronger the spirit, the more power the warrior has, and if someone were to bind a High Spirit they could change the world.   The mountain people wage war against the Makkah Nation, binding spirits to help them win battles, and one High Spirit called the Star Spirit - the Great Horse, the Star Mare, the Wild One - will decide who wins the war.   The Star Mare is too powerful and clever to be bound by just anyone, but if she could be tricked into a binding, perhaps by her friend the Painter . . . the people of the mountain are quick to do all they can to capture the Great Horse, and the Makkah spirit binders must do all they can to stop them.   The Painter himself is dragged into a strange world so different from his own, and his strongest desire is to keep his friend out of it. How can he warn her though, when all of his powers have been stripped away, most memories lost, and understanding of this world dismal?
