Muted whispers buzz around the crowded lecture hall, hushing only when the door beneath the terraced seats slides open. The professor - a fairly tall woman with braided hair - takes a moment to organize her desk, seemingly unaware of the dozens of gazes on her. At last, she looks up to address her students.
"Whoa." One unlucky student lacks a filter, his mouth hanging open. His friend elbows him in the side, but the professor's gaze snaps to him with keen focus. The student's awe is instantly understood; the professor's eyes are an unnatural crimson, and, though muted, the color seems to blaze with a strange intensity.
