Magic Reborn

Centuries ago the world we know ended. The cataclysm caused the human race to become completely infertile. Numbers dwindled to only a few pocket communities around the world. It is no longer known what led to this, however, for the past several generations, no child has been born the way other creatures are. People are born into the world through the returned magics that now cover the land. Spirits walk among us, granting us their power in exchange for various forms of worship and our souls. Every child born is through communion with one of these such spirits instead of communion between people.   The land in the world is wild, and civilizations that existed before are completely in ruins. People live in much smaller communities now, the largest of which are mere towns in the eyes of the people that lived centuries ago. The clans farm the land, hunt the wilds, and go in search of artifacts in the old ruins. There are often skirmishes over control of hunting ground and those ruins.   The Erba clan is no different. In the former Midwest of North America, they fish in the river, hunt in the nearby forests, and live in their town they also call Erba. Their settlement is relatively new compared to some neighboring clans, but they will defend their clan with all of their might.
