Tree of Life

  The massive godlike tree in which the biggest elven city is founded around, is believed to be planted by Aina herself. It is a very spirutal and sacred site, throughout elven history the tree has represented life, nature and innocence.  

Purpose / Function

  It is said the tree is providing life force to creatures living around it. The massive roots gives shelter to many living creatures, the bark allows homes for even more. The elves do not life in the tree themselves, they also control who approaches the tree with a firm hand.   Only wild creatures of the forest is allowed to roam freely around the tree. The surrounding area closest to the tree is not claimed by anyone, but is used as an unmarked graveyard for elves. The presence of the tree seems to clam wild animals, make predators almost live in harmony with their prey.   It is said that the sap of the tree can heal wounds, cure diseases and even lift curses, yet it is very prohibited to damage the tree in any way. Once a year the tree blossoms and sends its' spore-like seeds with the wind. The seeds grow into smaller trees throughout the region, these trees are called god trees, and is said to have a connection to the goddess herself.  

Architecture

  The naked trunk of the tree is more than 9.000 feet tall and the crown on the tree another 10.500 feet tall at least, with diameter of 24.000 feet wide.  

History

  The only theory about the origins of the tree is that it was planted by the Goddess of Natur. Elves and other nature loving creatures have always been drawn to this tree, many have settled around it. Mostly elves lives in near vicinity of the tree today, tough forest gnomes and firbolgs are a common sight in the city around it. The tree is said to be more than 4000 years old yet no one truly knows.
