Mindrot

Mindrot affects the minds of mostly people of age, it starts subtle and increases in severity over time. The victim will acknowledge the disease and pass away after many years of depression and sadness due to knowing they are sick and slowing loosing all their memories. In extreme cases the victim can't remember anything at all. Not only is this disease lethal by itself, but it also crates dangerous situations for the victim and often leads to them getting themselves killed.

Causes

There is no evidence that the disease is caused by any outside source. Yet observations do show a link between rich folk living a lavish lifestyle and the frequency. Gluttony and copious amount of food seems to increase the risk of becoming a victim of this grotesk disease, though nothing yet is proven beyond reasonable doubt.

Symptoms

Early Stage

The victim experience increasing difficulty remembering daily tasks, what they need to do and what they have already done.

Victim is aware something is wrong.

Intermediate Stage

The victim forgets who people are, how to function in society and loose the ability to execute what they do for a living.

Victim is beginning to forget they are sick.

Final Stage

The victim forget who everybody they know are, including themselves. They relive flashbacks of sudden random memories, these seem alien to the victim even though they are their own memories. They act completely irrational often driven by fear from literally anything, often getting themselves injured or even killed.

Victim is is not aware of the disease and is dangerous to themselves and their surroundings.

Treatment

Mindrot has no known treatment.

Epidemiology

Mindrot does not seem to be able to spread from one victim to another, this confirms the disease is not an outside life form attacking a host and spreading to others to survive. It is also known the disease it is not a fungal infection or any other form of infection. further the disease is not carried by water or food, or the surrounding environment, therefor the threat of having an outbreak is non existent.
