To further the Technocracy's experiments on those of hunter bloodlines they kidnapped Desmond and his wife Calliope. They took part of the formation of a new HIT regiment, same experiment as Clay but different squad. Calliope showing no direct ties to hunter bloodlines or a famous hunter was killed with the focus shifting to Desmond being a Belmont. He was experimented on with more drugs than Clay's squad and was tortured for information and to break him mentally. Desmond eventually took his own life before the Technocracy was able to break him, however that did not stop the experiments.
