Ayiran Plain

The rich plains of Ayira give rise to its extensive civilization, Ayira. The Bay of Gish also gives Ayira great access to trade across the west, and in the past Ayira was incredibly rich. However, the fertile lands are also a target for many, chief among them being the Yezic, which for hundreds of years have sought to control Ayira. So far, none have succeeded.

Geography

The Ayiran Plain stretches from the Anguin Mountains in the west to the Zabic Desert in the east. Two major river systems run through it, both in a north-to-south direction- the Elik and the Norlan. These rivers give rise to the incredibly fertile soil of the northern region, and it is due to this that Ayira has prospered for generations.

Fauna & Flora

The flora of the Ayiran Plain consists mainly of grasses and bushes, with the northern and western areas being home to deciduous woodlands. Wheat is native to the region, and has lent a major hand to the people of Ayira in the long run. Deer, antelope, goats, bison, tortoises, and horses are preyed upon by wolves (in the north), leopards, and lions (in the south). Many species of songbirds, as well as some parakeets, call the region home, with eagles, falcons, and ospreys being the major birds of prey.

Natural Resources

The Ayiran Plain is a major source of food for Magavir, with wheat, barley, rye, and many other foodstuffs being grown in this region. As well as this, the mountains nearby provide the area with minerals, and the woodlands of the north and west provide lumber.
