Maelfalis

The chosen creation of the Twin Gods, Lumina and Dominus, the land of Maelfalis is a place that always seems to be in flux. The name itself means "fallen into conflict". Throughout its history, the continent has seen it's share of conquerors and rulers. Until recently, the land had never known a lasting peace, but for 197 years it seemed to be a reality.   However, within the last 40 years, creatures have started to stir and nations have begun to become restless. Each nation is battling their own internal struggles while trying to maintain peace with their neighbors. The Church of Void and Light has helped to maintain this peace as well, and even now works to keep tensions at ease. Although with the appointing of new high priest on the horizon, even their influence has come into question.   These events have given rise to the occupation of adventuring. Many of these nations contract skilled adventurers to take on tasks that might be too sensitive to mobilize armies to. Even the everyday villager can request the aid of these individuals. There are many who seek out this lifestyle; for fame and fortune, fighting for the greater good, spread the word of the gods, or just out of wanderlust. They may yet be the peacekeepers that this land deserves, or the final push into another conflict.
