Lyra System

Vampires and Mechas are my original premisse here. We are a little beyond year 5.000 and most the History between our days and this moment have Solar-Punk inspiration (I furtively stolen more than a few notions from Isaac Arthur channel, but did that so discreetly that no one will ever be able to prove this crime). Scifantasy, distant stellar system in this galaxy.   There is magic, and it is important, but no fireballs. Mages only make spells in their dreams, or astral projection. What they do that way do affects the physical world, but takes some time and some mediation. So, caught awaken the most powerful mage is no different from the next guy. Except that the average mage certainly end up having more money than the average human. Still, mages are just humans. Unless they are not, what is the rare exception.   Humanity is spreading through the galaxy, or at least was last time we had contact with anyone outside this system. Our characters are trapped here. Even travel between planets and satellites is very dangerous.   Super-intelligent AIs do exist and they are no Skynet. Quite the contrary, the High-AIs in this galaxy happen to be all humanist zealots. The best Guardian Angels our specie could hope for, in those times of Human Expansion through the Galaxy. Last but not least, we have lots of neo-feudal Mecha-Lords. And independent nations fighting endless petty wars against each other for the last one thousand years. The approximate time humanity has been in Lira System.
