Ice Sheet Lake

This frozen wasteland has been frozen for as long as anyone can remember or even write about in old texts and scrolls. While there is some ground that is part of this area, the majority of it is one big lake that is completely frozen over by the Permafrost Water that lays in it. Nobody knows why this water is the way it is, but it can only be found in this area.

Geography

Other than the little moutain just on the outskirts of this area, it is mostly flat ice. The ice itself is rather clear, so it is fairly easy to see through and sometimes get disoriented. It is clear enough to see the Permafrost Water underneath the actual ice; though the snow on top of the ice usually obscures it. The ice itself is also incredibly hard, so anything that might want to break through it will have little chance in doing so, save for one or two creatures native to the area.

Localized Phenomena

The ice from this lake is a lot harder than regular ice. However is melts about the same way as regular ice does. Many adventures and some researchers have tried breaking through in the past. While most people are able to get through some of it, it quickly reforms and refreezes due to the Permafrost Water underneath. The closer one gets to the water, the faster the ice seems to form.

Fauna & Flora

Because this place is perpetually frozen and in snow, very few creatures and plants live here. Though be careful, as the creatures that do live here are not friendly. Chances are however, it isn't very likely to run into anything here. The flora that do grow in this place however are few in number and very small. A few berries can be scavenged, but no flowers or trees exist here, which is why the prime source of food for monsters would be meat or other monsters.
