Cressm

Creatures of the darkness, these amphibian type of insects like to stay underwater and in deep caves as they seem to have gotten used to the deep pressure that can come with those types of environments. Usually seen in small packs/groups, they'll leap at just about anything they sense moving. They'll very quickly start to cling onto prey with their hard tails and eat into their flesh. After feasting, it'll retreat back into the water and use the energy to lay a few dozen eggs and quickly die off afterwards. The eggs themselves will take about a month to hatch, and then only take a few days before reaching maturity and ready to go hunt in the caves again. It is unclear as to why they decide to hunt in caves rather than stay underwater, but it speculated that it is because they are faster on land than in the water.
They'll often surface and stick to the cavern walls for weeks at a time, simply waiting for something to come by. If you are unfortunate enough to encouter a group yourself, make sure you have some poisons or toxins ready, as they have sensitive lungs.
