Lyasel

Summary: In the vast, dangerous and uncharted land of the fey wild rests a people who have lived there for as long as the fey wild has existed. Its governments and houses have toppled, its individuals have scattered over the millennias but still these people remain. The Saura elves are often considered the first of the races to have been created, before the creator decided to bestow unto mortal kind a kinder, more habitable land. Yet this has not restrained their growth or perseverance, and this breed of elves is all the stronger for it. They founded the region known as Lyasel; a group of houses and noble families in a strict and what many would consider grueling honor code.   Region: The Fey wild is at its heart the embodiment of natural magic. It is a forest where the usually subtle magic of life rips across its horizons and manifests every tree, but it is no fairy land. Natural magic is cold, heartless, beautiful and terrible when brought into form. Just as the vicious cycle of nature in whole portrays art, so does the magic that binds it. Beasts of outstanding sizes stride across fields of flowers as horrors eager for a meal pursue them. Most of the Feywild is a dense forest but there are grasslands, jungles, and rivers scattered throughout. Some of this magic has been restrained by the Arch fey so as to make life easier for those that uphold their code. Lyasel is the region where this enchantment is in affect.   Government: The control of Lyasel is divided up into houses which each control a territory. These houses sport very similar cultures but are governed by different families. Each family shares the same code of honor that is upheld by the Eldrani Circle (a counsel of Arch fey who oversee the Feywild). So long as this code of honor is upheld, the Saura elves are left to do as they please. However, repeated transgressions of this code going unpunished is met with harsh retribution which has meant in the past extinction of an entire house. There are 4 classes of citizen each with their own code and standard: Royal, Distinguished, Common, and Degenerate. These classes are most often separate and in no way free of conflicts.   Culture: Society for The Saura elves is always in a precarious position. The honor code and classes have so often lead to rebellion that systems for revolt are a functioning part of the government. Any transgressions open the offender to be challenged for his place and authority. Every action is done in an upright manner, since upholding of this code can lead to an individual or family moving up in this cast system. There are three central houses and a large number of smaller ones.
