Syn

Syn, also known as The Truth Seeker, is a deity of truth and civilisation.

Appearance

Syn is often depicted as an elvish woman with medium-length white hair and piercing blue eyes that resemble the burn of echo. Her skin is said to resemble porcelain and she is often said to be deaf, an aspect that influences the way she is worshipped.

Commandments

• Lies are a weapon for the unrighteous, a weapon unfit for those seeking the truth.
• Seek the aid and community of others. The capabilities of a community far outweigh those of an individual.
• Tame the wilds of this world in the name of civilisation and defend it from those who would destroy it.

Worship

Syn is a deity that is closely worshipped in areas of the world where civilisations are strong and in those where the founding of new empires and kingdoms is taking place. Pockets of her worship exist across Luxilice however many aspects of it remain the same between distant sects. A common idea from her worshippers is that the goddess is deaf, thus making her unable to be lied to. This idea leads to prayers to the goddess mainly relying on different mediums such as writing, pictures, or physical objects.
A large number of worshippers of Syn also tend to work in courthouses as lawyers and with law enforcement groups as detectives, using their desire for the truth to benefit the flow of justice in a society.
A form of worship that some particularly devoted clerics partake in is a trial known as the Trial of Truth. The cleric has their hearing stripped of them through ritual. This practice brings them closer to their goddess and allows them to see things for how they truly are, increasing their ability to discern lies and secrets.
