Toreni Handshake
"Knuckle-to-knuckle, man. It's the only way to know someone's not going to stab you in the back and kill your family."
-Anonymous Toreni Vagrant
History
Since the dawn of history, there have been many ways to greet another person. Some cultures used a hug, others kissed cheeks. After the Clans were united, the Consulate settled on a quick, easy, and sanitary greeting. The Toreni Handshake.
Execution
It is quite easy to perform a Toreni Handshake. One party must close their hand into a fist, symbolizing trust. They then extend it forward, palm down. The other party closes their hand into a fist as well, symbolizing acceptance. The two hands then meet, knuckle-to-knuckle. The image from above represents the dual-hearts of the Toreni touching.
Participants
The greeting requires two or more participants. The more fists touching, the stronger the bond being made. Squads frequently have "Group Handshakes" where each member gets in a circle and their fists meet in the middle.
Observance
Generally, the Handshake is used whenever a deal is opened and closed, before a major strenuous event, or when two friends meet up for a day on the town. There are other, more involved greetings for individuals who are closer to each other than friends are.
