Soare

Soare is the arid land lived in by the sun elves, and the sister kingdom to Eaglenia.

Demographics

Most of the inhabitants of Soare are fire elves (or sun elves, used interchangeably), a race of elves that tends to be dark skinned with dark hair and light eyes.

Government

Soare has incredibly close ties with Eaglenia, in fact the monarch of Eaglenia (Leilani Alana) is the wife of Edan Bast, so the two countries operate almost as one. The system built works by having a special stone in the heart of the castle (called the Koho Pohaku) be activated by it's citizens, the Koho then chooses the monarchs and they get married and rule together (who knew a stone could be such a great matchmaker?)

Defences

Most of Soare is underground, and their troops are well used to working in heat while any intruders would not. Soare soldiers also know how to move underground, all that coupled with their strong alliance with Eaglenia leaves them well defended.

Industry & Trade

The people of Soare mine the metals deep under their earth. They also fish, and import grains from Eaglenia. They also carve limestone, and they make paper out of sand using a special method known only to them. They're also quite famous for creating the message braziers and is the original place where these are made. They make a special kind of linen and that is used in trade too.

Tourism

People visit Soare to see the famous underground cities and the beautiful architecture made using limestone. They come to see the bazaars and the messaging network. They stay in inns underground.  Soare has a festival with Eaglenia, where the citizens gather for The Annual Cooldown which is basically this giant water fight to cool down. It's as fun as it sounds.  Soare has another one in it's short monsoon season, where everyone comes above ground and plays and dances in the rain. The dances are intricate things which work with moving the rain around the people causing stunning displays.

Architecture

Pretty much everyone in Soare lives in a figurative iceberg, with a short square building above ground that goes quite deep below where the city really is. The buildings are made of sandstone, and they have an ingrained magic system that controls the light below ground to make it feel like morning and night.

Geography

Soare is a dry arid desert, but the cities are built around oases so it's quite picturesque.
