The Provincial Divide

An agreement between the the Druids of Reshka and the warriors of Skal, allowing each to exist within their own methods of ruling.   Resulted from the Skalian Tragedy

Purpose

Establish separation between each country in Crismalia and give each leader of each country freedom to govern in whatever fashion they would desire. The treaty would break as soon as any conflict broke out between the nation. This event occurring would result in the all out destruction of Crismalia, which is why any conflict has been against Crismalia as a whole rather than within the countries inside.

Document Structure

Clauses

The treaty, since it was written on a small clay tablet, only contained a title and two headings.   The first heading: Divide Stipulation The second: The Shatter

Caveats

The shatter is the only caveat: once conflict breaks out the content of the provincial divide is null.

Publication Status

This document is sitting in the the Provincial Lord's Council Center on the island outside of Ragdale

Historical Details

Background

The Skalian Tragedy: a small war between the countries of Cridalia and Reshka. Reshka barely got the upper hand, but both sides lost very passionate citizens leaders. Oreshya Reshka drafted the document, Brindle Skal confirmed it, and each Lord that took power signed it with them.

History

Centuries of peace have followed the document, with both sides of Crismalia boasting substantial military power combined with the intentional interconnectedness of the provincial lords via the circle of the Lords council.

Public Reaction

Crismalia being such a small population at the time, most were relieved to see the end of foolish conflict, as most had been affected by the war in some way or another.

Legacy

It is the single document that binds Crismalia. Once the shatter occurs, Crismalia exists no more. The document holds this power among each provincial lords.

Term

The document has lasted nearly 1000 years, and despite some tensions rising in the south it still holds strong.
