Making Characters

Sean Stonehouse
Of course the most important part of any campaign is its characters. These are the rules that you must follow in order to make your D&D 5E characters.   1) You must make a 5th edition Dungeons and Dragons character which means using 5th edition character sheets.   2) You must make a level 1 character.   3) You may use any race or class options from any of the core rule books. This includes the Players Handbook, the Dungeon Master's Guide, Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide, the Elemental Evil Player's Companion, Volo's guide to Monsters, Xanathars Guide to Everything and Mordekainen's Tome of Foes . When picking class options they are not limited by your race. (For example, a dwarf can be a bladesinger).   4) When getting your ability scores you must use the dice rolling method described in pages 12-13 in the players handbook under the DETERMINE ABILITY SCORES section. This is the one part of character creation you must do at your first session with a new character. Right before the session starts we will roll stats for characters that don't have them yet, and then right after, the adventure will begin.   5) After finishing making your character, you may chose to either improve one ability score by +2, two ability scores by +1, or you may choose an extra feature from the FEATS section in the Players Handbook on page 165, I do this so your character can have a unique feature right off the bat, to add variety to all the players.   6) When making your character keep in mind there are other players as well, so try to not make a character you think may be offensive, or might ruin the other players fun.   7) When making your backstory remind yourself of the setting of the world. Some legend can be found about Losia in the articles on the Losia page. But for the moment I do not have the entire map done, and what has been done so far can be changed, so if you want your ancestors to be from a city far away, you can come up with names and important figures and I can just plug them into the world. Once the campaign starts and the world is more put together, this might be subject to change.   8) Lastly send your character sheets to a DM so that your name and character can be added to the Player's Contact info section. Either this or you can make your character on D&D beyond and add it to the Wilds of Losia page. Link to the D&D beyond campaign can be seen in the sidebar.   Alright, that is all! Have fun making your characters
