The first sentient beings were the elves, how ever they were not the elves we see today. The true elves, the originals are the ancestors of all elves today. They did not evolve unlike most other life on the planet the gods corellon laretheon, rillfane rallathil and sehanine moonbow. They were given paradise, love and magic, and they lived at peace for thousands of years, they worshiped their gods and those who showed great power were made into priests and priestess’. And following in these gods steps many others began setting in to motion their own species, Eadro created the merfolk, deep beneath the oceans, moradin moved the earth to create mountains and gave them to his dwarfs. And so on. Lolth was jealous of the other gods and their creations, she had created the aracnids, the others had scoffed at her for her strange design, they could not speak, they had too many legs, and eyes, and they were tiny…. “What ugly creatures” corellon pointed out, “and how useless” moonbow said. “They do seem awfully mean, and scary, they have been killing others all over the world” rillifane had mentioned. Lolth felt that the gods were cruel to her and it changed her, her spiders became her spies, she sent them to whisper to the elves, corrupting their hearts and drawing them away from their gods. Soon enough she had a lot of the elves on her side and they broke away from the rest they discarded their religion, and began to worship lolth for she had shown them the light. When the others discovered what had happened they argued over how best to deal with these betrayers, over time they decided to banish them to the ground, deep below the dwarves or the merfolk. And so was lolth. However this decision did not sit well with all of the gods and caused a great rift in their kinship, rillifane took ⅓ of the elves to the great forests and taught them to be kind to all life no matter their appearance, and formed the first wood elves, Corellon took hers to the deserts and they slowly disappeared into the sands of time, and finally moonbow taught her elves that they were the originals, the true elves unchanged and perfect, and thus the high elves were born.   Lolth continues to try and destroy the surface, for she blames the gods for her circumstance and wishes revenge for her people, the drow have become twisted beings, believing themselves to be the most important beings in the world. Their banishment has disconnected them with the rest of the world and as they developed and became more and more hateful their bodys changed, the priestess’ of loth aim to become as spider like as possible to please her.   As the years passed more and more gods created their own beings to worship them selves and the world changed to fit. Until one day the Humans evolved, the scream of the first human child, the first uncreated sentient being, created a whole new pantheon of gods. This creature had flipped the tables, and was a mark of things to come, the humans are not hindered by their creators for they had none and in a very short amount of time (comparatively) they began to take over the world. The gods of humans are less powerful than the originals but however untouchable and they care greatly for their mortal wards on earth, having seen them grow from gatherers and hunters to builders of great cities. The gods still exist in the world but try not to interfere too much, they live in a delicate balance and have learned not to aggravate one another.
